About

Marja Vongerichten is a chef, author and TV personality. With her 3 Star Michelin Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, she hosted “Kimchi Chronicles” a PBS TV series chronicling food, culture and travel in South Korea. She wrote a companion cookbook "Kimchi Chronicles: Korean Cooking for an American Kitchen." Marja opened her first Korean restaurant with JeanGeorges in Shanghai, called CHI-Q, which was awarded Best Asian Restaurant, by Time Out Magazine for two years in a row. She is the co-founder of Marja’s Original Asian sauces, sold exclusively at the Tin Building by Jean-Georges.

Marja pursues her passion for cooking by traveling the Internationally doing public speaking and food-related events. Marja is an Amerasian; she was born in Korea of a young Korean woman and an American soldier. She was adopted and raised by American parents. She has a passion for bringing Korean food and culture to the spotlight with her passion for all things Korean.
